Behavior Management and Skills Development Services are designed to match children and teens with trained adults who provide 1:1 behavioral assistance in their home, school, and/or community and teach a variety of life skills to promote success. Parents are provided tools and support for more effective parenting.

BMS is designed to serve children in the least restrictive environment possible and may be utilized to transition children from higher levels of care to their home, school, and community; making it possible for children to maintain in the least restrictive educational setting with their peers; and to prevent the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or other out of home placement.

BMS may be provided in the child's home, classroom, or in a community setting with the times and places determined by the child and family's need. Most often these children are at imminent risk of separation from their families or school setting due to the seriousness of their behavioral problems.

Program Referral Criteria:
Clients eligible to receive BMS include children and adolescents (up to age 21) who have severe emotional and/or behavioral disturbances (SED) or neurobiological disorders (NBD) and can benefit from skills development services.
